Meg originally trained as a teacher and worked in education before qualifying as a Counselling Psychologist.
Counselling Psychologists provide a variety of techniques and therapeutic approaches to meet the specific needs and circumstances of clients. They work in areas such as grief and loss, significant life transitions, relationship issues, domestic violence and maintenance of healthy lifestyles.
Meg offers individual counselling to adults and older adults and uses a range of evidence-based strategies including:
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (including behavioural interventions, activity scheduling and cognitive interventions)
• Skills training (including Problem-solving skills and training, Social skills training and Communication training)
• Motivational Interviewing
• Interpersonal therapy
• Acceptance and Commitment therapy
• Psycho-education
• Diagnostic assessment
• Anxiety management
Meg encourages clients to set their own goals for treatment, which is always evidence-based. She is committed to offering a supportive and compassionate environment for her clients.
Her experience includes working in private and public hospitals, regional health organisations, private practice and residential aged care facilities, across rural, regional and urban settings.
Meg is available for face to face appointments at Mind Health Care on Wednesdays and Fridays.
